In recent times , despite the advance in technology and air controls the aviation industry has suffered various accidents worldwide .In fact in the last years the numbers of tragedies has been increasing every year , having affected companies of all kinds and from many countries in the first and the third world .Today , many bad things can happen in a regular flight though pilots , flight attendants and inspectors do their best safe, the best condition for flying. It is more impo rtant likely that the accidents happen a little while before, during or after taking off or landing.
On August 20 th , 2008 a plane from the company Spanair suffered an accident at Barajas Airport with 154 killed people , many of them foreign people that wanted to have vacations in Islas Canarias a popular place in Spain . Only 19 people survived the crash.
The airline did prefer not to comment at all about the accident but the government has explained the causes after the investigation .The accident occurred when the plane was taking off with destiny to Islas Canarias and it crashed and exploded as a fireball in the end of the runway at the International Airport of Barajas, the most important Airport in Spain localized in Madrid many fire trucks and ambulances went to help and helicopter were throwing water on the fire flames.
According to the investigations the cause of the accident was that the wing flaps deployed during the take off and had another problem in the cockpit warming system that failed to alert pilots about the fail in the wing flaps. The accident was could have been avoided .The airline company has been processed for not paying attention in maintenance of the airplanes , the worst of this case is that a very similar event had occurred before in flight of Northwest in 1987 in Detroit United States .
The Spanish government has taken measures against Spanair; and the airlines have decided to improve the maintenance of planes. A judge has recommended having better rules and controls for mechanicals staff. The most important manufacturers of airplanes Boing and Airbus have recommended security equipments in their planes.
This is an example of how important it is that airlines do not reduce the costs about maintenance and the most important is that the airlines have taken conscious out guaranties for the employees and travelers.
